The Humanity of Jesus – Video and Article

Introduction

In my previous post, I showed how God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are shown in the Bible as playing different roles in whatever God is doing. If you haven’t visited that post already, I would encourage to you do so before reading this post.

In this post, we will look more closely at the role of Jesus during his time on earth in a physical body. We often underestimate just how far our savior went in order to rescue us.

Roles and Relationships in the Trinity

Introduction

This the first post and video in a series about Spirit-filled living. In this series, I hope to describe how Jesus set an example for us to follow, and he empowered us to do so in ways that are truly astounding.

The Godhead

In the Bible, God has revealed himself as three distinct and distinguishable, but not separate, persons.

He is revealed as God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit

He is One God in Three persons. Theologians call this the Trinity, or the Triune God.

Anniversary of Healing and Holy Spirit Baptism

On this day, 16 years ago, God healed my wife Teresa of two “incurable” conditions.

She had lost the ability to use her arms, and she was only able to stand for around 90 seconds before her legs would give out. She needed full time care.

We had been believers our whole lives, but neither of us had never seen anyone healed, and we were not even sure if God still heals today.

On August 25, 2006, during a time of prayer, all of that changed. She was completely healed in minutes. All of her pain was gone and she walked about 4 blocks that night. She began walking every day and regaining her strength. Within two weeks she was walking more than a mile.

Soon she joined a gym and began running and doing strength training and TRX. She was doing pushups, squats, overhead press, and so on. I couldn’t keep up with her.

When she went back to her main doctor, she told him what happened. He decided to give her a full exam, and he was completely shocked. He wrote a report that said her condition was “miraculously resolved.”

Also on the same night that she was healed, at the same time she was on her first walk in years, I received the Baptism with the Holy Spirit and God completely turned my world around. I had been a Christian for nearly 30 years when this happened, and I haven’t been the same since that night.

Here we are 16 years later, still healed, and still loving Jesus. We have shared our story many times, and taught many people about the things we learned about healing and the Holy Spirit. We have seen God heal so many others, and He is not done yet.

If you would like to read more details of our story, or if you would like to listen to a healing service where we share our testimony and help many other people receive their own healing, please visit this link

A Brief History of My Journey as a Teacher

I received salvation as a child. I grew up believing that the Bible is true. And I have been teaching Bible studies and Bible classes and leading Christian groups for most of my adult life.

By nature, I am a researcher. I enjoy digging into topics, learning things, and figuring things out. For me this is a very relaxing and natural activity. I do it for fun. And I have always been this way as far back as I can remember.

The Kingdom of God – When Is it?

In my previous article, I covered my view of what the kingdom of God is, and I provided some definitions and some of the things I consider to be helpful in understanding it. Here are a few key points to bring you up to date in case you have not read the previous articles in this series:

  • The kingdom of God was the central message of Jesus (Matthew 9:35)
  • Preaching the kingdom was the primary reason Jesus was sent to the earth (Luke 4:43)
  • The kingdom of God is not a place, it is the governing influence of our creator in us and through us (Luke 17:21)
  • The kingdom of God is manifested and made tangible by the Holy Spirit (Matthew 12:28, Romans 14:17)

I also shared in a previous post that many years ago, I thought that the kingdom of God was the place you go when you die. And so in my mind, Read more

The Kingdom of God – Repentance

In the Bible, the English word “repent” is the translation of a Greek word “metanoia” which basically mean “change your mind” or “think differently.”

If you have a strong opinion on something, but later you get new information and you change your mind…that is repentance. That is what the word means. To change your mind so that you think differently than you did before.

In my previous post, I shared something that originally upset my theology, and then eventually Read more

Why Jesus Came to Earth

If you have ever pondered the question “Why did Jesus come to earth?” Depending on your background, there are many ways that this could be answered. Did he come to die for our sins? Did he come to show us what God is like? Did he come to teach us how to love one another?

Those are all things that he definitely did while he was on earth. However the primary and central reason for his coming is found in Luke 4:43. Jesus tells us plainly why he was here on earth. Read more
