Title: Healing School part 1 – The First Healing in the Bible
Subject Matter: In this class we read the story of the first healing found in the Bible (Genesis 20), and we discussed some very important principles that are present in this story. We also got to hear the testimony of someone’s experiences as they first learned about praying for the sick and then began doing it. Continue reading →
Title: The Baptism with the Holy Spirit part 1 – Overview
Subject Matter: In this class, I provided a general overview of the Holy Spirit Baptism, and answered some questions that came up. I also shared some of my own personal testimony of receiving this Baptism the same night my wife was miraculously healed from Fibromyalgia.
Subject Matter: This was a short class where we quickly went through the basics of the Baptism with the Holy Spirit, and gave an opportunity for people to receive it. In this class I reference two handouts that provide additional information I was not able to cover due to the limited time we had. Those handouts are available at these two links:
Title: Healing part 5 – Learning from Jesus in the Scriptures
Subject Matter: This is the fifth part of a series on healing. In this class we examined some of the passages in the Gospels where Jesus was healing the sick. From those passages, we pulled truths and principles that will help us as we continue changing our thinking and our actions so that we are more and more like Christ. Healing was a major part of what Jesus was doing, and in order for us to accurately represent Him, healing should be a major part of what the church is doing.
Subject Matter: This is the first part of series on healing. In this class, I shared about how I began learning about healing, and how I got started praying for people and seeing them get healed in the name of Jesus. Then I introduced some of the different things that I consider to be foundational on this topic. My friend Bill Alsop also shared some things that were very helpful.
Title: The New Covenant part 6 – Eternal Redemption
Subject Matter: In this class we spend nearly the entire time in Hebrews chapters 8-10. We were talking about how revolutionary this letter would have been to the original audience. We used the historical and cultural context of the letter to help us grasp the gravity of this fact: Jesus offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, and then sat down (Hebrews 10:12). We also used all of this context to help shed light on some passages that sometimes are difficult to understand.
